Reading
Please see your reading record for the pages you are being asked to read this week.
Your task this week is 'Visualiser'. You should visualise an important scene from the book. Make a detailed drawing of the event and write a sentence explaining what is happening.

You have been provided with a sheet to do your drawing on.
 
Spelling
You have a list of  words to learn this week.  - 
To practise your words you can either use the various activities on spelling city or if you do not have access to this website write out your words 3 times each day and add the challenge of improving your accuracy and speed by achieving a personal best each day.

Maths

'Round and About' activity. Write the numbers 300, 400 and 500 in the centre of a piece of paper. Using magazines, newspapers, leaflets etc you should cut out numbers and prices that you should round to the nearest 100 and stick them on your sheet.
If you are finding it difficult to find numbers which round to 300, 400 and 500 you could always extend your one hundred digit numbers to include: 100 and 200. - 600, 700 etc

Remember your prices could be in pence or pounds. For example 264p and £313 would both be rounded to 300.

Numbers are all around us - think of weight - 165kg, 400grams, distance - 306 mm, 456 kilometres etc.





Topic

You should research 3 animals and find out 5 facts about each of them. You should present this information neatly on either an A4 sheet or A3 - they will be displayed for others to see.
 You should select animals which are in different vertebrate groups, either a mammal, bird, reptile, amphibian or fish.
You should be ready to present your facts to the class.

Reading

P4D
Please see your reading record for the pages you are being asked to read this week.
Your task this week is 'Word Wizard'. You should find 8 interesting words from the pages you are reading for this week's homework. You should complete the sheet provided, importantly adding the page number and then using a dictionary (either hard copy or online) to find the meaning of the interesting word.
P4H
P4H have responsibility for the assembly this week. Your task is to read the assembly script and become familiar with the part you have been given. Remember to add expression and a loud voice. You are not expected to memorise it. When you are familiar with your part read all the script to someone at home so they understand all the different things we have discovered about grouping animals.

You should also know the song we are going to sing

Maths

We have been comparing numbers in class. Work out the following calculations on a piece of paper and then create 10 of your own. Work out the answers ready to test a partner in class. Write the answers on one side of the paper and the calculations on the other. Remember to look at leaving a blank digit for the thousands, hundreds, tens and units.

For example

What digit could be entered in the box for the statement to be correct. Remember there could be more than one answer.

To challenge you further create a number sentence with 3 or 4 numbers.

You have been given a piece of A5 paper in your homework folder. We have been looking at animal patterns in class. Create your own animal pattern making sure you fill up the piece of paper. You can use any material of your choice at home: crayon, pencil, paint, collage, newspaper strips etc.
You have 1 week left to complete this.
