'Symmetry Activity'. - this is linked to our Roman topic.

We have been studying Roman pillars and have discovered they are symmetrical.

Edinburgh has a variety of different architecture inspired by the Romans (and Greeks). It is possible to track down versions of Doric, Ionic, Corinthian ans Composite pillars.

Follow the link - Click-here

Between now and returning to school after the Christmas holidays I'm sure you will have the chance to visit the city centre to see the Christmas decorations etc. Whilst there look for some examples of these pillars.Have a good look around you, can you spot the different types?

It would be fantastic if you could mark on the map where you found them and what type of pillar you discovered. If you can get some pictures that would be even more amazing.

If you do not have the chance to visit the city centre ask friends and family for help and also do some research

Mark up what you discover on the provided map.
