You should complete the sheet provided and write a sentence using each WOW Words. Each sentence should be something to do with the book you are reading, eg write about a character, setting or plot.

Spelling
You have a list of  words to learn this week.  -
To practise your words you can either use the various activities on spelling city or if you do not have access to this website then write a super sentence for each spelling word. (Think carefully about your opener, wow word, connective and correct punctuation).

Maths

'Fractions - Understand what a half means'.

Number line game -  draw a large number line with whole numbers from 0 to 10 and play the following game with someone at home.
Each person places a coin on zero to start. They take turns to toss a third coin, If it lands heads up, they move their coin along 1/2 (half) and say aloud the number landed on, eg, one half, or three and a half. If the coin lands tails up they move on 1 whole. The winner is the first player to reach or move beyond 10.

Extension - If you are comfortable with working with halves, try the same game with:
  • quarters (1/4) or
  • thirds (1/3).

ICT - Being safe on the Internet

This is a 2 week project - this is the second week with final completion due for the 13 May. By now you should have watched the films about how to be safe on the internet. (See last weeks blog for the link).

Now that you know what the 5 e-safety SMART rules are, create a poster to show your parents what you have discovered about being safe on the internet. Bring the poster into school.
